Acupuncturist

An acupuncturist is a licensed practitioner who is trained in acupuncture, an ancient Chinese medicine that integrates conditions related to the whole person (physical, mental, and emotional) and remedies ailments through the practice of pricking the skin with needles. An acupuncturist may work within a clinic or they may have their own practice.

The skills needed to work in the field of acupuncture are very similar to the skills used when running a private studio. If you are a musician who has received or given private lessons, you will notice similarities in how an acupuncturist must communicate with clients, create a wellness plan for each individual, and work in one-on-one settings with clients. This would be a good field for someone who has an interest in working in a setting similar to a private studio but does not want to pursue music. This would also be good for someone who wants to run their own business or work in a smaller setting.

An acupuncturist is required to hold a license in acupuncture.
