Early Childhood Music Educator

An early childhood music educator is a music teacher who works with very young children, toddlers, and babies. This includes creating a curriculum, choosing age appropriate music and activities, and, often, working with students’ parents. The work of an early childhood music educator is mostly singing and movement. The teacher will sing to young children and guide them through movement activities to help create the foundation of their music knowledge.

An early childhood music educator is expected to obtain training in early childhood education. This often entails a certificate or bachelor’s degree and some organizations may require the teacher to have a teaching license or even a master’s degree.
