Finding colleges to apply to can be overwhelming. There are hundreds of institutions to choose from in the US alone. Use this page as a guide to choosing your major, finding the major(s) and degree(s) that fit best for you, to then selecting schools to apply to.
Step One: Choose Your Major
Many students have the misconception that Major = Degree. Your major is your focus that you will select to study to then achieve your degree. For example, there is no “Violin Performance Degree”. But there is a Bachelor’s of Music in Violin Performance. The first step to picking colleges to apply to is to know what you want to major in. Not all schools have that major of your choice, but many do!
