Manager of Residential Life

Also known as Resident Manager

The Manager of Residential Life oversees the administrative processes and logistics for students to live on campus at educational institutions. They ensure a healthy and vibrant living community for residents from all backgrounds, cultures, lifestyles and attitudes. To assist with this mission, they hire, train, and supervise Resident Assistants (RAs) and other staff who assist with the day-to-day tasks in resident halls.

To cultivate engagement within their residential communities, they may develop a residential curriculum to provide intentional learning opportunities for students residing on-campus. They manage the budget for any planned programming for community development, supervise Resident Assistants on programming and crisis response, and organize logistics for housing assignments, student conduct, daily campus life, major events, and any purchasing needed for the department of Residential Life. The manager of Residential Life works to ensure that students feel welcomed and have the opportunity to interact with a large, diverse group of people while being in the heart of on-campus activities.
