Union Office Staff

Union staff members assist with the day-to-day operations of the union.

With unions sometimes serving thousands of members, they must have dedicated staff to execute their daily operations. They require administrative assistants, directors, recruitment coordinators, and contract specialists. Union staff members build connections, navigate negotiations with employers, recruit new members, and communicate with all members to keep them informed.

Musicians who are passionate about service and helping their fellow musicians can find working as part of their local union’s staff a rewarding way to make ends meet in addition to their creative endeavors. Those with excellent organizational and logistical skills or backgrounds in administrative or legal roles are well situated to work as part of a union’s office.
